Mothers day 2024

Yesterday Raghu started cleaning Prady's room when he was looking for the TTD passbooks. Paddu joined in and now the room looks so much bigger and cleaner. Sammu was also inspired to clean out her closet yesterday and today. She apparently had a productive day today cleaning the closet, cleaning her hair and doing cartwheels with her friends in Rose garden.

She has started cello lessons and doing well. Apparently she has picked up quite some violin playing skills from all the years of watching Prady and holds the cello bow like a violin's. I am very proud of her for her hard work, her immense note taking ability in math - her geometry book is a gem - and her application in sanskrit classes.

Paddu has been working hard on and off. But he has has wowed me with all hard work this spring - AI classes, tennis, lawn mowing, improving some of his grades, doing the SAT prep, sanskrit classes, attending hiking in Scouts and holding ASPL position there. He has also applied to quite a few college summer programs, asking for teacher reccomendations, applied to the Mayors job fair and got 2 jobs - one at Evanston ecology center and the other at Evanston economic development for website maintenance. He will not work either as we are going to India in June and he will do the CIERA research program in July. I am beyond thrilled and so is he that he got into that program. It was a little disappointing when he hadn't heard back from the other places. Still he is in the waitlist at Rose Hulman camp. He is also seeing how effective and useful AP stats has been in his job interviews and probably in his CIERA selection as well.

He also showed an understanding of how colleges work and told me 3.5 gpa in ENgg is hard to maintain and asked if the college has a way to offer lower scholarships if the gpa was lower.
